There Are Things That Happen For Some Reason And Things That Don’t

When things happen, they are not always the result of chance or fate, they often happen because we tried hard, worked to get them, or because the time was right.
There are things that for some reason happen and others that don't

There are things that actually happen for a reason. Because we’ve been working, because we’ve given all of our being to get to conquer them; something we’ve been waiting for a long time and fate has finally given us what we dreamed of.

Now, on the other side of the coin, there are the other things that don’t happen because it wasn’t the time, because the situation wasn’t favorable, or because luck or bad luck wanted it that way.

It’s curious to see how life is always suspended in this weird balance where everything fits sometimes and sometimes everything seems to be upside down.

We expect so many things in our daily lives that, sometimes, we have the feeling that nothing advances, nothing arrives, and that destiny has forgotten us. Now, it is necessary to see things from a different approach or perspective.

We are responsible for our existence; if we want something, we have to go looking for it. Fate and luck may join us very occasionally, but it is ourselves who, with our  attitude  and will, rise up as authentic artisans of our vital paths.

We invite you to think about it.

Things that happen “for some reason”

We are sure that you have ever been in this same situation: a co- worker, a neighbor or a friend says: “how lucky you are in your life and how good things are going well”.

We calmly reply that more than “luck” is “daily effort and will”. Because not all things happen without us knowing, because most of the time we promote them ourselves with our dedication.

good and bad luck

Is there good and bad luck? Like everything else in nature, there is a small percentage of random or uncontrollable contingent that always escapes our will.

We cannot prevent certain illnesses, accidents, much less have “control” over the reactions or desires of people around us.

  • Good luck and bad luck exist, but in a small probability and that we have to accept and assume. However, the rest of what happens around us has a source that we can control.
  • Now, what often happens is that we are not fully aware of “our ability to control and choose”.
  • Psychologists speak of the “locus of internal or external control”. People with an external locus of control are the ones who attribute everything that happens to the chance or will of others.
  • They have this kind of helplessness where if something goes wrong it’s attributed to external factors, never this lack of personal investment.
  • It’s not suitable; people must learn to develop an internal control where we see ourselves as responsible for our own lives.

Only then can we learn from our mistakes and understand that many good things happen to us because we deserve it.

Things that don’t happen “for some reason”

I want to be  happy  and I can’t. Is there perhaps a negative and invisible force that prevents me from achieving it? After all, unhappiness always has very concrete sources that you need to know how to identify.

If there are things that don’t happen, it’s for some reason. Maybe it’s because there are some of these factors that we must know how to face and manage in our favor.

The fear

Fear is the main root of unhappiness and it disables any chance of “something happening”  new, something good and enriching.

Fear clips our wings and prevents us from reacting; nor can we forget that those who are afraid of something delegate to others. That’s when we begin to develop the external locus of control we talked about in the beginning.

Indecision

We all experience some point of indecision. This faded and fearful attitude in which we fail to act and “promote” the changes around us.

Life gradually becomes a movie that plays outside our window, in which we are never the protagonist.

If we get to that point in our life cycle where we have the feeling that nothing happens, nothing changes and nothing happens, maybe it’s time to go out and make “things happen.”

The danger of waiting too long

Butterflies passing by the woman

When we wait too long, hopes and dreams are lost. Trains go by and we miss them all.

Happiness is not something that someone waits for as someone waiting for the dawn, happiness is created and felt and, for that, we must start to give it shape from within. We need to stop waiting.

Destroy fears, deactivate uncertainties, move away from those who want you to be “quiet”, malleable and solicitous. Well-being needs movement and going beyond our  routines  and comfort zones. Dare to make your dreams “happen”.
